Peloton: One Year Check In

Peloton: One Year Check In

Well I’ve had my bike for over a year and FINALLY hit my century ride. I’d be bummed that it took so long other than the fact that I grew and birthed a human in that time. So really, I’m proud of myself for biking through pregnancy and slowly getting back to it postpartum.

The good news? I still absolutely love it and think it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I started out with a free trial of the app to see if I would actually use it and how I felt about the instructors. I’m notorious for starting projects and never quite seeing them through. The last thing I wanted to do was waste a LOT of money (it’s an investment) on something I’d lose interest in after a week. I was hooked by the guided runs and strength classes and fell in love with Peloton in general.

After having the ability to work out from home, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a regular gym or group classes. In this current season of life with a baby, the flexibility I have with Peloton is invaluable. I can stack short classes which I love or hit the pause button if needed.

I rode up until 36 weeks which felt like I win (I had baby at 37 weeks!) and have slowly made my way back in this postpartum season. The meditation classes were so helpful in the first trimester (pregnancy after loss is so mentally taxing) and the prenatal yoga felt like the perfect gentle activity to connect both with my body and the baby growing inside of me. I’ve loved doing the postpartum core classes with Robin and the bike has made me feel so strong.

All in all? I love it just as much as I did in the beginning. I know it’s not for everyone but I am a BIG fan of the Peloton and it works for me. I definitely recommend a free trial of the app if you haven’t already to see what it’s all about! Interested in getting a bike? My referral code will get you $100 towards accessories!
